The Applicant Referral Data Sharing Network is a (currently informal) project of the Summer Mathematics Programs Consortium. It is an opt-in system used to share basic information within the network for the purpose of matching students with well-fitting programs.
Applicants to network programs may signal their opt-in by selecting a checkbox on the application. Opting in to applicant referral data sharing does not guarantee an admissions result to any program, nor does it positively or negatively affect your chances of admission. The purpose of sharing your basic information is to connect you to well-fitting programs by making them aware of you and enabling them to contact you directly.
By opting in, you are agreeing to allow the following information to be shared with network programs:
No information that is not on this list will be shared, however, programs may be unable to or choose not to share some of this data.
Your data will only be shared with administrators of network organizations for the purpose of outreach and recruiting. Programs that receive your information will use this information to identify potential applicants, and may send information about their program directly to you. Your data will be used for no other purpose. Please see our privacy policy, below, for detailed information.
This Privacy Policy explains: what applicant information we collect that may be shared with other network programs, how that data will be used, when it may be shared with other network programs, how we keep it secure, and the rights families have regarding this data. Our goal is to be transparent and to protect student privacy at every step.
Information we collect and may share:
No other information we collect from applicants is shared with other network programs.
We use basic applicant information to help connect students with additional summer math programs that match their interests and level. Data is shared only if consent is given via the checkbox on the Not-as-Short Form. Data is never sold, never used for third-party marketing, and never shared outside the network.
Basic applicant data shared within the network may be retained for up to 12 months for the purposes described above, unless a shorter or longer period is required by applicable law or institutional policy. Families may withdraw consent to further data sharing at any time. They may also request data deletion if required by law.
